During the walk you will be impressed by the Riddarhuset's fantastic architecture and decorations as well as be fascinated by the houses' setting along Munk Bridge and on Järntorget. You will discover historical doors with amazing decorations and hear about the history of the city.
The Old Town is one of Europe's largest and best-preserved medieval city centers and the oldest house, the Storkyrkan, from the beginning of the 14th century, is next door to the king. During the end of the 19th century, many blocks were threatened with demolition, but at the turn of the century 1900 people saw the historical values and only a few buildings were demolished. Today, roughly 3,000 people live in Gamla stan and the range of restaurants, cafes and shops is large.
Give yourself time to experience more than just Stortorget and Västerlånggatan. When you enter the narrow alleys, you experience the genuine atmosphere.
Don't miss the chance to discover and experience the mystery and history of the Old Town through this unique city walk.
