Happens during the city walk
Welcome to a city walk on Katarinaberget, where you will discover new alleys and details you previously missed. Here you will hear stories about how the area developed after a violent fire in 1723, which destroyed large parts of the area around the church. New residential buildings and factory premises were built and a completely new urban environment emerged.
Listen to stories about Mosebacke torg and how it got its name, as well as about Märta Helena Reenstierna, alias Årstafrun, who described the narrow streets and large garbage mountains in the area. You will also hear stories about the Rowing Ladies and the horrific years when cholera raged in the 1800s.
This city walk is for you who love Södermalm and want to discover more of its fascinating history.
Join us on a journey through time and experience the stories of a time marked by brave women and brave men who fought to survive and build a better future. Don't miss the chance to experience this unique city walk on Katarinaberget!
